Best Homemade Fries

How to create the greatest oven-baked, crunchy homemade french fries! How to make French fries crispy again, along with the secrets to baking fries to perfection.

 Ingredients:

  1. 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil divided
  2. 1 1/2 pounds golden yellow potatoes Yukon Gold or similar, about 4
  3. 1 teaspoon kosher salt plus additional to taste
  4. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  5. 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
  6. 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  7. 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  8. Toppings (optional) fresh parsley, chives, freshly grated Parmesan cheese (or nutritional yeast)

Instructions:

Step:No:01

Set an oven rack in the lower third and preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Pour one and a half tablespoons of olive oil over a large rimmed baking sheet, swishing the oil around to coat the pan nicely.

Step:No:02

Wash the potatoes and remove the peels if you like (I don't). Cut into sticks that are 1/4 inch broad. After placing the potatoes in a large bowl, cover the potatoes with at least an inch of boiling tap water. Give it ten minutes to sit.

Step:No:03

After draining, place the potatoes on a fresh towel and pat dry, changing the towel as necessary. After giving the basin where the potatoes were soaking a thorough cleaning, add the potatoes back to it. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, onion powder, dill weed, garlic powder, and the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. Make sure the oil and spices are evenly spread before tossing to coat. Arrange the potatoes on the baking sheet that has been preheated in a single layer.

Step:No:04

Bake in the lowest part of the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the underside begins to become golden. After taking the baking sheet out of the oven, carefully release the fries from the bottom of the pan using a broad, firm spatula. To ensure that the potatoes rotate and brown uniformly on all sides, flip them as large parts as you can; you don't have to carefully flip each and every one of them. Reposition the potatoes into a single layer using your fingers, being cautious because the pan is hot.Re-enter the pan into the oven and bake the fries for a further five to ten minutes, or until they are as crispy and golden as you like. For this lover of crispy fries, 30 minutes was the perfect amount of time. Add any desired toppings and extra salt to taste while the fries are still heated. DESTROY.
