Thanks to the well-known jingle that goes something like this: "Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, and a sesame seed bun," the Big Mac, an iconic burger that first appeared in the late 1960s, has become synonymous with its list of ingredients.
Ingredients:
BIG MAC SAUCE.
- 3/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1/4 c. sweet pickle relish
- 2 tsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. beef bouillon (such as Better Than Bouillon)
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
BURGERS.
- 1/2 c. finely chopped yellow onion
- 1 lb. (80% lean) ground beef
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 4 sesame seed hamburger buns, plus 4 bottom buns
- 2 tsp. (or more) neutral oil
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1 1/2 c. shredded iceberg lettuce
- 24 dill pickle chips
Instructions:

Mix the mayonnaise, mustard, paprika, sugar, onion powder, beef bouillon, and garlic powder in a medium-sized bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Store in the fridge until needed.
BURGERS.

Pour cold water over onion in small basin; keep aside until needed.

Shape the beef into eight patties, each about 1" wider than the buns, and sprinkle salt and pepper on top.Step:No:03
Heat the oil in a big, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches, fry buns cut side down for about a minute, or until lightly browned, adding extra oil as needed and keeping a close eye on them. Buns should be moved to a chopping board.Step:No:04
Cook 4 patties in the same skillet over medium-high heat, turning them midway through, for 1 to 2 minutes on each side, or until they are thoroughly browned. Move to a platter. Continue with the remaining patties.

Pour the reserved onions and place them on a plate covered with paper towels. Distribute some sauce over the bottom bun. Add a burger patty, a slice of cheese, some onions, lettuce, and three pickles on top. Add another bottom bun, more sauce, pickles, onions, and lettuce on top. Place a second hamburger patty on top.
